Getting started on a healthy and sustainable weight-loss / maintenance program is as easy as 3 x 3.
The world is surrounded by many influential mediums that are telling people what to eat, how to eat and how they should look and dress thus creating a population wave that is in search of the best diet, the latest weight-loss pill and the new happening “Secret” to weight-loss.
I am here to tell you that there is only one real and genuine way of going about this weight-loss / maintenance thing and it is as simple as 3 x 3.
A healthy weight-loss figure should be in the region of 3-5 kilograms per month. Not only do we want to take control of our weight, but we also want to take control of our lives, and how long we still have left on this earth.
3 x 3 is a simple concept that enables us to create a correct eating habit. The right nutrients in the right portion sizes.
So what is the 3 x 3?
The first “3” represents our three main nutrition groups: Protein, Fats and Carbohydrates. Every meal should contain a source of each which will provide a balance of nutrients our body needs to function correctly.
The second “3” represents time. There should be a 3-hour interval between meals, the first being within 45 min of waking up and the last being 3 hours before bed.
Finally, your portion sizes:
Protein: 1 Palm size
Carbohydrate: 1 Fist size
Fats: 1 thumb size
Gents, you can go as far as doubling up the portion sizes and gradually reduce as need be.
That is it, no scams or gimmicks. Just a simple blueprint to get on the correct eating path.
For those with a more physical lifestyle, this is a good starting point however, your nutritional requirements will differ more.
